MECC encourages all eligible students to register to vote. Voter registration materials can be obtained through the Office of Student Services and the Virginia Department of Elections at https://www.elections.virginia.gov/registration/how-to-register.
The National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA), a federal law, requires that university and community college offices serving persons with disabilities offer those persons the opportunity to register to vote or to update a voter registration record at the time the applicant applies for services or assistance, applies for renewal of such services or assistance, and/or applies for a change of address. The Office of Disability Services will provide persons with disabilities information on voter registration and the registration application form for those who wish to apply. Applying or declining to register to vote does not in any way affect the assistance persons will receive from the Office of Disability Services.
