Application to Power Lineman Program
The Power Lineman Program is a 15-week program made of up 3 sections:
- 2-weeks Worksite Safety
- 10-weeks Power Lineman
- 3-weeks Commercial Driver’s License Class A
Credit & Non-Credit Classes
Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Tuition Assistance Available
When: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. / Monday – Friday
Where: Mountain Empire Community College & Big Stone Gap Armory
Requirements
- 270 lb. Weight Limit
- Good Physical Condition
- Pass DOT Physical/Drug Test
- Valid Driver’s License
Students should be aware that this is a physically demanding training program requiring heavy lifting, climbing, and outdoor activities in all weather conditions.
