I am concerned that I cannot complete online classes? May I receive a refund?

  • MECC’s priority is to keep our community safe and to support students as they transition to remote learning experiences. We are dedicated to helping you achieve your learning goals in spite of this difficult situation. MECC has not cancelled any classes for the Fall 2021 term and must adhere to the academic calendar deadlines. To determine if you are eligible for a refund, click here to view the academic calendar.

What should I do if I don’t have computer or internet access?

  • Please contact your course instructor or an MECC Advisor to discuss your options. WiFi will be available on-campus in the parking lots A & D. Additional free access hotspots are available around the service region. For a map of these access points, please see https://hotspots.wifi.comcast.com/.

What support services are available to me?

Are workforce and continuing education classes being held?

  • Yes. Please contact workforce@mecc.edu or call 276-523-7479 for information on the availability and delivery of classes.

Are campus events cancelled?

  • Stay informed with event and schedule changes on MECC Social Media pages and website. Also be sure to sign up for MECC Text Alerts.

How will I access my online learning?

  • All classes will have content and assignments loaded into Canvas, which is accessible via MyMECC. Please be aware that some classes may continue to have optional live meetings in small groups, and/or through online technology such as Zoom. Please contact your instructor if you need training on how to use Canvas or refer to https://resources.instructure.com/courses/32 for assistance.
