Introduction to Programming with Python & Raspberry Pi

Mountain Empire Community College is excited to host the MECC Summer 2025 Coding Camp, a week-long, hands-on learning experience designed to introduce middle and high school students to the world of computer programming and technology.

Dates: June 23 – June 27, 2025
Location: Mountain Empire Community College Campus
Who Can Apply: 6th - 8th graders interested in computer science
Cost: Free to accepted participants – includes materials, Raspberry Pi, and meals


What to Expect

Campers will explore the basics of computer science and programming using Python, one of today’s most widely used programming languages. Each participant will receive a Raspberry Pi 5 microcomputer to assemble, configure, and use during the camp—and take home afterward to continue exploring and building on what they’ve learned!
