195     MUS 195 – INTRODUCTION TO LYRIC WRITING: TURNING PASSION AND INSPIRATION INTO A WELL CRAFTED SONG (3 Crs) – Introductory course into the basic techniques of writing a well-crafted song lyric. The course requires extensive creative writing, and informal, in-class performance. The ability to play an instrument or a skilled vocal is not mandatory. Classroom instruction will include A/V material, lecture, question and answer sessions, discussions, and both individual and group reinforcement exercises. There will be periodic quizzes, weekly writing assignments shared in class, a critique project, a mid-term exam, and a final writing project presented in class.
