MECC’s Slemp Gallery to Feature “Women in WWII” Exhibit

Women in World War IIBig Stone Gap — Mountain Empire Community College’s Slemp Gallery is pleased to host an exhibit by Kennesaw State University focusing on the role of women in World War II. “Beyond Rosie: Women in World War II” explores how World War II impacted the everyday social, cultural, and economic realities of life for women in the United States. The panel-based exhibition also highlights individual stories within larger topics including women in the military services, the Holocaust, labor unions, the USO, and resistance and sabotage missions. MECC’s Slemp Gallery is located in Robb Hall, inside of the Wampler Library. This exhibit will run Feb. 13- March 4.
