Option 1: User has already setup 5 security questions.

  • Step 1: DO NOT enter username
  • Step 2: Click FORGOT Password
  • Step 3: Enter MyVCCSID Username
  • Step 4: System will ask user to answer 3 of the 5 security questions, which will allow the user to reset the password.

Option 2: User has NOT setup 5 security questions, but correct mobile number in SIS.

  • Step 1: DO NOT enter username
  • Step 2: Click FORGOT Password
  • Step 3: Click ADVANCED Password Reset Tool
    *Completed “I’m not a robot”
  • Step 4: System will ask user for First Name, Last name, DOB, Emplid or SSN.
    *Enter Emplid if possible, because SSN is not always in SIS
  • Step 5: Click I Do Not Know My Password
  • Step 6: Send Temporary Password to Mobile number

*Users need to have a mobile number in Student Information System (SIS) in order to receive a temporary password with the advance password reset tool. 

Option 3: User has NOT setup 5 security questions, but no mobile number in SIS.

Statement of Compliance Concerning Password Resets of the MECC Online

According to FERPA standards §99.31 Identification and Authentication of Identity,  a student requesting their username either by phone, chat, or other remote means must provide the answer to the security questions. If a student cannot provide the answer to their security questions, they must request their username in person, send a signed copy of their driver’s license or photo id by mail or fax, or have their username mailed to their home address that is on file in the SIS system.
