MECC’s Center for Workforce Development provides the following skills assessment & development for individuals and employers.
Individuals interested in improving basic workplace skills or their test performance for WorkKeys Testing or the VA Career Readiness Certificate can do so by utilizing KeyTrain. KeyTrain is beneficial for students or employees who seem unprepared for the challenges of the workplace; perform below the goals of WorkKeys or similar assessments; or are not qualified for the jobs they want or need. Each KeyTrain course includes lessons organized by WorkKeys levels and skills. These lessons include review tutorials, skill demonstrations, and interactive work-related exercises. KeyTrain is being used to increase the workplace skills of individuals in many different educational setting, such as: School-to-Work/Vocational Education; Workforce Development; Business Employee Development; and Paraprofessionals/ Teaching Assistants.
WorkKeys is a job skills assessment system measuring “real world” skills that employers believe are critical to job success. These skills are valuable for any occupation – skilled or professional – and at any level of education. WorkKeys serves as an effective tool for measuring basic workplace skills in order to make the best decision in hiring and retaining employees. MECC offers WorkKeys testing for employers and for job seekers on an ongoing basis.
