Pharmacy Technicians are important members of the health care team, working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Pharmacy technicians assist with record-keeping and the dispensing of medications in both clinical and retail settings.

Accreditation

The program is approved by the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.

Credentials

After successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take a state or national certifying examination for registration as a pharmacy technician.

Job Opportunities

Opportunities for Pharmacy Technicians include employment at: hospitals, pharmaceutical firms, independent and chain retail pharmacies, physician's offices, clinics, government agencies, research institutions, and the armed forces.
