Toys for Tots benefit features local singer/musician Melvin Dillon

The Mountain Empire Community College student organization SIFE is sponsoring a benefit concert for Toys for Tots on November 20th, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, in the Goodloe Center on the College campus.

Recording artist Melvin Dillon, born and raised in the coalfields of Virginia, will play his brand of music he calls Appalachian Soul.  Admission is one toy or a five dollar donation. 

SIFE is an international organization that brings students, professors and industry leaders together to develop community projects that will help improve the quality of live for individuals. SIFE will donate the toys to the local Toys for Tots organization that serves Lee County, Wise County, and the City of Norton.  The organization provided 1500 children with toys last year.
