Auto-World – MECC Golf Classic Scheduled for May 18

Are you ready to play some golf? If so, don’t miss the 2007 Auto World – Mountain Empire Community College Golf Classic, scheduled for Friday, May 18 at Lonesome Pine Country Club. The captain’s choice tournament will feature two regular flights, and will benefit scholarships at MECC. Registration, warm-ups, and practice will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Individual competitions in the tournament include most accurate drive, closest-to-the-pin, putting, and chipping. Great prizes will be awarded. A player who makes a hole-in-one on hole number 10 will win a 2008 Dodge Avenger.

In the Putting Contest, all participants will be entered into a drawing for the “Big Putt.” The player whose name is drawn will attempt a 50-foot putt to win $2500. Each golfer will receive a goody bag and gift.

The entry for the golf classic is $100, and includes continental breakfast, golf cart, green fees, range balls, boxed lunch delivered on the course, and a post-tournament cocktail reception. A mulligan package may be purchased for $10, and includes mulligan, toss, and red tee.
