The Larkins Set to Appear at MECC Spring Fling

Sisters Shaunna and Tina, otherwise known as The Larkins, will appear in concert at Mountain Empire Community College on Wednesday, April 19.  The performance will be held in the Goodloe Center on campus from 12 noon to 1 p.m.  The duo plays and sings music described as a mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass at its best. 

The Larkins have appeared on the Grand Ole Opry and worked as performers at Dollywood.  They have also shared the stage with some of the biggest names in country music over the last several years including Dolly Parton, who wrote one of the songs on their latest album.  Parton sings harmony on the single and appears in the music video for the song. 

The Larkins' performance at MECC will be held in conjunction with the college's annual Spring Fling, sponsored by Student Services.  This week of activities for students and staff will take place on April 17-21.  For more information about The Larkins, visit their website at www.larkinmusic.com.
