MECC’s Small Business Development Center Offers Credit Counseling Workshop
Duffield, VA. – Mountain Empire Community College’s Small Business Development Center is hosting a special event to help business owners and residents learn how to manage and maintain a high credit score.
The free workshop, titled “Understanding Credit: Good or Bad,” will be held Thursday, December 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Pioneer Center in Duffield, VA.
A certified credit counselor will present information on four distinct segments of the credit system. The first—Credit Report—educates how to properly read a credit report. The second—Credit Score—shares how a credit score is determined. The third—Debt—reveals the warning signs of too much debt. Finally, the workshop provides the Dispute Process for attendees for if errors are found on their credit reports.
The workshop is sponsored by People Inc., the Virginia Small Business Development Center of Mountain Empire Community College and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
