Local Law Enforcement Officers Complete MECC's Professional Leadership Academy

2013 PLABig Stone Gap, VA – Local criminal justice leaders from throughout Southwest Virginia made up the seventh graduating class of the Professional Leadership Academy, a partnership between the Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy in Bristol, Virginia and Mountain Empire Community College.
The Professional Leadership Academy is led by Robert England, MECC Professor of Criminal Justice. The six-month cohort-based program transfers into the Corrections and Police Science programs at Mountain Empire Community College. The correctional and law enforcement supervisors participating completed 120 hours of training, including a leadership project, before graduating from the Leadership Academy with their certificate.
