In America's Historical Newspapers, find news articles covering topics in government, politics, social issues, culture, literature, discoveries, inventions and more from hundreds of primary sources . Includes news and eyewitness accounts of events, issues and daily life in the colonies or during the Revolutionary War, westward expansion, the Civil War, Reconstruction, industrialization, the Progressive Era, World War I and other eras. Also included are illustrations, advertisements, classifieds, birth and marriage announcements, obituaries, stories about historic people and other articles exactly as they appeared in print.  American Historical Newspapers
Credo Reference provides access to over 400 full-text reference titles in a variety of subject areas. Credo Reference titles are searchable via the Wampler Library online catalog and VCCS MetaLib. To access on campus, CTRL + click on the logo and start using. To access from off campus, CTRL + click on the logo and when prompted, enter your library card number which is the six digits on the back of your student ID added after the following digits 27221000.  Credo Reference
EBSCOhost eBooks offers access to over 7,000 full-text electronic books in a variety of subject areas. The EBSCOhost eBooks collection is also searchable via the Wampler Library online catalog. To access on campus, CTRL + Click on the logo and start using. To use this service from your home computer, you will need to first open the service on campus and create a free personal account, by clicking on the Sign In link at the upper right hand of the eBook home page, then on the Create a New Account link.  EBSCOhost eBooks
Films-on-Demand provides access to over 6,000 titles in streaming digital video that faculty and students can view on a computer with Internet access. You will need a username and password to access this collection. Please contact library staff at 276-523-7468 for the username and password.   Films on Demand
Global Road Warrior provides current physical and cultural geographical information for the world along with over 1,500 maps. To access on campus, CTRL + click on the logo and start using. OverDrive, provided by VCCS, offers access to over 1,200 audio book and video titles on topics taught at MECC as well as popular titles. To access on campus, CTRL + click on the logo and start using. Safari, provided by VCCS / VIVA, offers access to over 7,000 full-text electronic books in business and information technology. To access on campus, CTRL + click on the logo and start using. Virginia's Community Colleges Library Services along with VIVA (The Virtual Library of Virginia) offer over 90 electronic databases with indexing and abstracting of magazines, newspapers, journals, and books, many in full-text.
