2010 Governor's School
The three-week program features a variety of hands-on activities in one of several subject areas selected by the student. Students spend time in the field, in labs, on tours, and in the classroom with the faculty of Mountain Empire Community College, receiving eight college credit hours – tuition free.

Home Craft Days
For over 38 years musicians and craftspeople from southwest Virginia, east Tennessee, and eastern Kentucky have come to Mountain Empire Community College each October for a celebration they have now made their own. Crafts and demonstrations include weaving, pottery making, grist milling, wood crafting, basket weaving, broom making, quilting, tatting and much more.

Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony
The ceremony will commemorate the induction of new summer and fall honor society members. The program will feature a keynote speaker, who will address the honors study topic, "The Democratization of Information: Power, Peril, & Promise." A small reception will follow the ceremony. Family and friends of new inductees are encouraged to attend and celebrate their loved ones' academic achievements.
