To determine the amount of financial aid you will receive as a full-time student to help with your educational costs at Mountain Empire Community College, look up your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) number in the chart below. Part-time students receive a reduced amount based on their level of enrollment (9-11 credits 75%; 6-8 credits 50%; 1-6 credits 25%). Your EFC is located in the upper right corner of the Student Aid Report (SAR) you received from the Federal Processing Center after you entered your Free Application for Federal Student Aid online at FAFSA.ed.gov. A student enrolled for 18 credits per semester will pay approximately $3,708 per year for tuition. Students attending Summer 2010 will receive additional COMA awards as indicated. Students must complete FAFSA applications and supply all needed documentation by May 1 to receive full consideration for SEOG and CSAP. COMA and CSAP students must be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits per semester to be eligible. Students may receive COMA or VGAP but not both in the same term.
