MECC to Offer Online Training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

Big Stone Gap – Mountain Empire Community College will offer online training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) this spring. Individuals, municipal and regional government organizations, and public service workers interested in furthering their training in GIS are encouraged to enroll. Courses offered this spring include GIS 200 & 201 Geographic Information Systems I and II, GIS 205 GIS 3-Dimensional Analysis and GIS 210 Understanding Geographic Data. Participants can learn about geospatial technologies, applying GIS into business operations and can earn certifications in the GIS field. Classes begin January 30.
